About Us

Christ Is the Answer Ministries (CITAM) formerly known as Nairobi Pentecostal Church was established in 1959, as a ministry of Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada (PAOC). It was born out of the need to establish an English speaking multi racial church that is grounded in the word of God and sound doctrine.

In 2003 Nairobi Pentecostal Church changed its name to Christ is the Answer Ministries (CITAM) and registered as an autonomous independent entity under the Societies Act of Kenya. The new name is drawn from our well-known motto “Christ is the Answer” believing that only Jesus Christ can provide the answers to human challenges and needs.

We are a Pentecostal church wholly submitted to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Our services are conducted in English, with a particular heart for reaching the urban populace in our context. Missions lie at the core of who we are. We are committed to outreach that extends beyond our walls into the wider community, carrying the Gospel to those around us with intentionality and love.

We are a community of believers open to all — embracing people across every tribe, race, and social stratum. No matter your background, you have a place among us. Our ministry approach is holistic. We don’t just minister to the soul; we seek to reach the whole person — spirit, mind, and body — with the life-changing Gospel of Jesus Christ.

  • Who We Are...

CITAM Athi River began in 2014 as a small gathering of believers with a big vision for the growing Athi River community. What started as a humble assembly has, by God’s grace, grown into a vibrant, multi-generational congregation. In May 2024, we celebrated our 10th anniversary, marking a decade of faithfulness that has seen the establishment of CITAM Schools Athi River and a thriving Catering Unit; tangible signs of a church investing not only in souls, but in the practical wellbeing of its community.

Today, under the leadership of our Senior Pastor, Rev. Dr. Jacob Kimathi, we continue to build on that foundation, anchored in the wider CITAM family; a network of churches across Kenya and beyond committed to the same mission and message.
